MoodFit / Positive Emotions is a Positive Psychology intervention, developed by the Medical Social Sciences School (Intervention Science) at NorthWestern University.
MoodFit is an interactive Journey, over 6 weeks, that helps people put into practice positive psychology skills. The core skills taught, then practised are:
Each topic comprises Psycho-Education + daily practice and reflection. The mindfulness skill incorporates >10 guided meditations, which can be re-played at any time.
There have been >10 clinical trials evaluating the intervention, typically in people experiencing stress or distress. Trials include: Dementia carers, nurses experiencing burnout, people recently diagnosed with Diabetes, Depression, HIV, early Breast Cancer, gun violence interrupters.
Having been repeatedly demonstrated in clinical trials to improve mood, positive affect and self-efficacy, across numerous different disease states, MoodFit preserves fidelity with the intervention and has been optimised for App delivery.
