Quit rates in the trial population were > double that of control groups, at 11% vs 5% for control groups.

πŸ’‘ Rationale

Smoking is highly costly to the health economy, and one of the leading causes of harm. By supporting people through their quit journey, and connecting people to their motivation, and preparing people for and validating the difficulties of quitting. Originally developed as STOMP, then TXT2QUIT, the intervention was the first of its type when published in the LANCET in 2010. Numerous publications followed demonstrating cost effectiveness, cultural effectiveness, and repeatability.
